The Balcony of Lake Como
Perledo sits on a hillside plateau 500 meters above sea level, offering some of the most spectacular panoramic views of the entire lake. On clear days, you can see all the way from Bellagio in the south to the dramatic peaks of the northern branch.
The town itself is a treasure — a network of ancient stone alleyways (contrade), Romanesque churches, and small family-run shops that feel untouched by time. Walking through Perledo in the golden hour, with the lake shimmering below, is an experience you'll never forget.
Minutes from Varenna
Just a scenic 10-minute drive or a pleasant downhill walk brings you to Varenna, widely considered the most romantic village on Lake Como. With its colorful waterfront buildings, the enchanting Villa Monastero gardens, and the charming Piazzetta, Varenna is the perfect spot for an evening passeggiata.
The Varenna-Esino ferry terminal connects you to Bellagio, Menaggio, and Como town — making day trips effortless. The train station on the Milan–Lecco line gives you access to the city in just over an hour.
Mountains & Adventure
For the active traveler, Lake Como is a paradise. The Sentiero del Viandante — an ancient pilgrimage route — runs along the eastern shore and passes right through Perledo. It offers some of the best hiking in northern Italy, with views that stretch for miles.
Mountain biking, rock climbing, paragliding, and boat tours are all available nearby. In the summer months, the lake is perfect for swimming, kayaking, and windsurfing. In winter, the mountains above Perledo offer ski slopes within an hour's drive.
